Forward Osmosis (FO) is a gentle process that transports water across a semi-permeable FO membrane while effectively retaining any dissolved solutes on the feed side. The osmotic pressure difference between a solution of higher concentration (draw solution) and a solution of lower concentration (feed solution) drives the FO process as shown in the figure
Membrane Group owing to its extensive research and trials on Forward Osmosis systems can deliver systems which can :-
Treat difficult waste waters with very high organic content- where other technologies fail
Help achieve ZLD by minimizing waste volume so as to reduce the load on Evaporator system thereby reducing Opex
Forward Osmosis can concentrate rejects to higher concentrations beyond the limits of RO
Enhance your Process Concentration – Protect valuables, nutrients, and aromas during processing
Few Commercial applications for Membrane Group FO Systems for Process Concentration are listed below :-
Juice Concentration
Coffee and Tea Concentration
Flavors and Fragrance Concentration
Enzyme Concentration
Beer Concentration
Dye Concentration
Coconut Milk and Water Concentration
Want to know if FO can be the right solution to your problems- Bioflow Engineering has both Lab based and Pilot Units available to check the effectiveness of this technology on your application.
